Massage CE Conference | BodySaver Method and Introduction to Thai Massage (21 CEs)

November 6, 2016 - November 8, 2016

DAY 1 and 2 — BodySaver Method Massage (14 CEs)

If you take no other continuing education in your massage career, this is the course to enroll in. The BodySaver Method™ is the foundation for a successful massage practice. It will extend the life of your career, allow you to serve more clients, protect you from strain and injury, and enhance every other modality that you practice.

As a massage therapist, you are your most precious resource. The BodySaver Method™ allows you to care for, extend, and maximize that resource, making you the best practitioner you can possibly be.

In this course, you’ll learn to apply the Principles of Longevity—the philosophy and practices that will keep you delivering your best massages longer, seeing more clients, and ultimately allowing you to remain in the career you love without burnout or injuries. These Principles include important concepts such as postures that will allow you to remain seated while giving a massage, and movements that utilize your body weight and momentum to their full potential.

You’ll also learn to protect the areas of your body that were not designed to take repeated pressure—such as your thumbs, palms, and lower back—by using your Power Tools, such as the forearms, knuckles, fists, and knees. It’s about using the tools of your body the way they were designed to be used. When you apply theBodySaver Method™, you’re adapting your massage practice to work with you, and support you.

After taking this course, you’ll be able to offer a one hour massage, at any pressure, without using your thumbs. You’ll know how to apply the Principles of Longevity to build a successful, lasting career. You’ll also know how to combine the BodySaver Method™ with your other modalities, making them safer, more effective, and more fun!

DAY 3 — Introduction to Thai Massage (7 CEs)

Thai Massage for the Table creates a partnership between you, your client, and the movements of this flowing modality. This course offers a unique fusion of Eastern techniques presented in a format that is friendly to the Western practitioner. Thousands of years of Asian tradition meet modern ergonomics and body mechanics to give you techniques that are creative, versatile, and powerful. With Thai Massage for the Table, you’ll learn a modality that’s safe, effective, fun to perform, and in demand!

Nayada’s BodySaver Method™ enhances the traditional Thai massage, allowing you to perform the authentic techniques of this modality with less strain and a reduced risk of injury. With Thai Massage for the Table, you won’t need to climb onto the table or floor to offer traditional techniques. You’ll use a natural rocking motion to avoid the stretch reflex, allowing your clients to relax and move with you, while leveraging your body weight and momentum to power the massage without strain.

Traditional Thai massage involves an enormous amount of thumb and palm pressing, but the Nayada Institute has applied the BodySaver Method™ and the“rule of non-thumb” to eliminate these common areas of repetitive injury. You’ll instead employ Power Tools such as the knuckles, fists, forearms, and knees to deliver a safe and effective massage.

Thai Massage offers a host of benefits for your clients. It includes range of motion techniques that increase flexibility and reduce joint pain, making it a great option for athletes and the aging. You can expand your clientele by adding a no oil, fully clothed option to your offerings. In addition, Thai Massage for the Table can be combined with your other modalities to offer the ultimate in therapeutic massage.
